A great opportunity for an experienced Civils Estimator to join this established regional main contractor based in Leeds. Reporting to the Regional Director and Commercial Director, this position offers a dynamic working environment where you will be at the centre of pre-tender operations for the business for projects throughout Yorkshire leading the estimating and bidding function.

The company delivers civil engineering and infrastructure projects such as roads & bridges, RC works, sub and superstructures, marine, rivers and environmental works as well as site infrastructure and general building contracting. They enjoy a high level of repeat business from private sector clients and inclusion on regional / local authority & government agency frameworks providing a consistent and progressive workload and turnover for this privately owned business.

Key Duties:

• Register and acknowledge receipt of all enquiries
• Review and analyse opportunities with Management Team
• Manage/monitor development of all aspects of bids/cost plans
• Develop and maintain a Cost Database for Engineering Works, Preliminaries Design Costs/performance, Increased Costs/market trends
• Produce a Monthly report to include Tenders Submitted vs Target and Tender Results vs Target
• Arrange & Chair Tender Settlements
• Establish (for Tendering Purposes) Prelim costs for Staff, Plant, Hutting, Insurances Travel & other costs
• Attend post tender / pre-qual interviews and report according
• Input to the Supply Chain / Preferred Suppliers for constructional elements in conjunction with project teams for Sub Contractors & Suppliers

Candidate Requirements:

• Conversant with and skilled in the use of modern estimating software; ideally Conquest
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• 5+ years estimating experience within the construction industry working for construction or civils contractors on £multi-million projects
• Experienced in working within budgets and timescales
• Degree or HNC in a relevant construction discipline
• Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
